Fire Chief say’s they don’t deal with electrical concerns

Volusia County Fire Marshall WTF?

My Father and I are just dumb founded by how little help we have gotten from anyone in Florida Government. For over 230 days we have struggled with a fire hazard and no one seems to care.

We want it noted that if we die in our sleep, that the Fire Marshall was contacted and there are open complaints with the DBPR and Code Enforcement. Each of these departments have failed to protect our lives and property.

We are living in daily fear of fire on top of mold and corona virus. It is not fair that these powerful men and women have done nothing.

Should the Fire Marshall take immediate action?

I honestly think so! At this point (day 230+), the Fire Marshall should cut the occupancy permit and force us to move out. I honestly will have no respect for them till they do.

It is a true shame what Home Depot has done and to save our lives they should intervene. Code Enforcement and the DBPR have failed to act and fine Home Depot or ARS.

They have allowed these two huge companies (Home depot & ARS Rescue Rooter) to continue to pull permits, modify HVAC systems and hook them up to electricity(county wide)!

In the comments below, tell me what your thoughts are?

Honestly, we had the head of Code enforcement to our home over 200 days ago! he didn’t know hoe to calculate the electrical load on this HVAC system! No really, he told us he could violate the system (here’s his report), and not verify what heating strip was installed.

And now, 200 days later!

We are worried about burning to death!

In my home town, the Fire Marshall is the most powerful man in town. He has more authority than the Police Chief! WTF is going on here. What do you mean you don’t deal with electricity?

*Note: I so wish that I would have been there when the Fire Marshal or assistant told my Father they don’t deal with electricity. I would have probally paused, then laughed and then been kinda confused? Now I’m feeling angry! My Father is not just a vet. He also has a plaque for 30 years of volunteer (unpaid ) fire and ambulance service (Berwyn Pa, Station #2). And yes, he was active for most of them. I still remember the giant fire receiver communications box that we would be killed for if we unplugged for any reason.

Hi Martha. I am shocked that My Father a retired Vet was told by one of your people that the Fire Marshal doesn’t know electricity or that’s not his department. I am publicly talking about this and think you may need to clarify your position for the media. When this holiday is over we will be picketing Code Enforcement and your office. If my Father dies I want it in writing that you are not interested in saving a Veteran life. As stated we have a dangerous fire situation that needs to be dealt with. Hi Martha. We still have that fire hazard and I am sure a note from the Fire Chief to Code Enforcement, the DBPR or the State Attorney General (who got involved Friday) would resolve this 214 day struggle against an illegal HVAC install. My Father is living in fear daily of burning to death or losing his home.

Permit was pulled on May 14th and voided out about a month after. Bee back and forth with home Depot and their people since. We are now using heat on a system that isn’t wired correctly and stuck. Can’t fix it because they should and possible litigation. Thanks, Tom

Hi. We are looking for help. We had a HVAC system installed 210 days ago. The company pulled the wrong permit, modified the system, installed it on the wrong breaker, flooded our home and to date hasn’t passed the inspection of provided insurance.

We have had the head of code enforcement out and he flagged the install. We have also had extensive video and professional inspections done. We are currently picketing and practically going viral across Facebook with all this. If this is not your department, you need to clearly state that in a formal (media) statement.
